A staple of Lowestoft life for centuries gone by is returning this week, as once again a market will be held in the Triangle Market area.
A special Christmas Market is set to take place in the area tomorrow, organised by Lowestoft Town Council as a statement of intent to resurrect a regular market there.
Dick Houghton, of the council, said it is thought that markets in this part of the town date back as far as the 15th Century. However, this has not been the case for the last decade or so.
He said: 'The Triangle Market area was transferred to the town council in April this year and we have resolved to bring the regular market back to its original home in 2018.
'As a token of this we have organised a special Christmas Market and are looking forward to a memorable and very busy day.'
The market will take place between 11am and 4pm tomorrow, with more than 30 stalls signed up to take part.
