Suffolk County Veterans Cup semi final Leiston 0, Kirkley & Pakefield 1

K&P made it through to their third consecutive final with a hard fought win against a very well organised Leiston side. With the game seemingly heading for penalties Darryl Hill broke the home side's stubborn resistance in extra time to set up a repeat of last year's final against Stowuplands Falcons. 'Let's hope we can make it three wins in a row,' a club spokesman said. Next up for K&P are important games against Bungay and then a mouthwatering League cup semi-final against Norwich Trafford. 'Well done to the whole squad with all 16 players making a contribution,' the spokesman added.

Anglian Combination Division Four Fakenham Reserves 2, Waveney 8

IT was the classic case of Waveney securing the three points while being well below their best on Saturday. Fakenham were to rue a number of missed chances as the visitors took the lead with Scarff racing clear to dink past the keeper. Although the hosts did equalise when Scarff added his second; Waveney took a lead that this time they were not to relinquish. Barker flicked home a header for a third and this was quickly followed by an Aldis finish from close range. Despite leading 4-1 at half time, the visitors still felt they needed more to make the game truly safe, with Fakenham looking dangerous on the break. Waveney made the hosts pay for this lack of cutting edge as they scored from virtually every other opportunity that came their way. First Scarff completed his hat-trick for Waveney's fifth, Aldis smashed home his second and two Willis goals completed the rout; one being a neat finish into the top corner. Simpson's Skoda MoM: Matthew Wilson.

Notley's Lowestoft and District League Norton 1, Barsham 3

NORTON'S title challenge took a severe dent following a 3-1 reverse to Barsham on what can only be described as a freak day. With four players missing to freak injuries in the build up to the game, Nortin had to play 51 year Nigel Hudson and 60 year old chairman Julian Walker for the entire match due to the lateness of these injuries. Despite this Norton gave a very good account of themselves and actually took the lead through Rory Spinks however Barsham's long ball game to the pacy attack led to them taking a 2-1 lead into the break. The second half saw Norton asking all the questions and missing a series of good openings before another Barsham long ball saw them grab a third. Keeper Ryan Starkey then dislocated his thumb but was brave enough to stay on the field of play before making a fine penalty save near the end to prevent Josh Woolnough from his hat-trick. Well played to all involved with the veteran Nigel Hudson grabbing the Read Bros MoM award.

Beccles Caxton Reserves 0, Norton Reserves 5

NORTON Reserves lifted themselves out of the relegation zone after inflicting Beccles Caxton Reserves to a 5-0 defeat with goals from Adam Orme two, Josh Jenkins two and Dominic Moore. With everyone else in the bottom six losing this was a perfect day for the team as they strengthened their hand in the survival fight.

Blundeston Magpies 2, Great Yarmouth Town Hall 2

THERE was never much between both teams as again Magpies performance was up and down. With two players not turning up on time, Magpies had to shuffle their team around to give Hall the initiative but gradually Magpies got on top and they began to play the ball around really well. Owen Smith scored his first goal for Magpies to put them ahead after 20 minutes. Just before half time Hall scored a cracking equaliser. Magpies got the better of Hall in the second half and had a goal disallowed before Martin soon made it 2-1. Moments later Hall missed a sitter, before they equalised after a Magpies mistake. Lilly hit the bar with a header and Jarvis had a shot cleared off the line while Parker made a good save at the other end.

Waveney Hearts 6, Blundeston 1

A FIVE-GOAL second half salvo helped Waveney Hearts of Division One blast their way into the quarter finals of the NSHEBA Shield at the expense of battling mid-table Division Two outfit Blundeston. Hearts goal machine Paul Hunter bagged a hat-trick and opened the scoring in the 20th minute by volleying in a Carl Burgess cross from eight yards. Mark Willis drove home (56) after some great link-up play, Hunter notched his second with a crisp finish just two minutes later before grabbing his third – and 11th goal in five games – after 65 minutes. Winger Jordan Haverson then ran the length of the pitch for a wonder strike (67) before Blundeston converted a consolation penalty (70) and Hunter's strike partner Michael Tacon drilled home a sixth for Hearts in the 74th minute. Sunrise Inn MoM: Paul Hunter.

Norfolk and Suffolk Youth League Kirkley & Pakefield U14C 4, Harleston U14 2

What a good game of football this turned out to be, K&P went 1-0 up very early on with a great move down the flank Harleston hit back and equalised, then it was K&P's turn to go on the attack and by half time they were leading 2-1. The second half swung back and forth as both teams played good football, and a move by Harleston caught K&P out as they drew level. K&P then upped their game playing their passing football, resulting in them taking a 3-2 lead. K&P maintained the pressure, and scored again to make it 4-2 with goals from Jesse two, Kegan and Harry.

Kirkley & Pakefield A 0, Waveney Youth U13A 7

WAVENEY Youth U13A visited Kirkley & Pakefield on Sunday and hit seven without reply in a match the visitors dominated comprehensively. K&P battled with enthusiasm in the opening period restricting Waveney to just the one goal when Mahoney was tripped and skipper Butler stroked home the spot-kick. Butler quickly secured a cushion with his second from Woods' corner and the floodgates then opened. Woods headed a fine third to finish off a flowing move and then his shot-cum-cross sailed in for the fourth. Waveney were rampant down the right and after another clinical move, Mahoney drilled home number five. Moran-Simons then rounded off proceedings with a brilliant hooked finish for the sixth and a close-range effort to make it seven, ensuring a top three finish with just one league game left.

Sole Bay United U13 3, Kirkley & Pakefield U13C 1

LEAGUE leaders Sole Bay were made to fight all the way by a revitalised K&P. An evenly contested first half saw the visiting back four of George E, Will, Connor and Curtis standing firm with Aaron and Sam both testing the home keeper. Sole Bay took the lead just after half time but to their credit K&P kept their heads and deservedly equalised with George B poking home from close range. Sole Bay regained the lead with a contentious second, which had the visitors claiming a handball. K&P gave it their all to get back into it as the game ebbed and flowed. Rory made an outstanding save for the visitors but from the resulting corner Sole Bay wrapped up the points with a third to cement their place at the top of the league. K&P MoM: Curtis.

Gorleston Rangers U14B 1, Waveney Youth U14B 3

WAVENEY attacked right from the kick off, but it took until the 16th minute before they were rewarded with James smashing home from the edge of the area after a move involving Andre and Jake down the left hand channel. Four minutes later Waveney doubled their lead when Jake scored from five yards. Rangers pulled a goal back with a fine finish from a short corner. Corey added the third goal before Rangers hit the woodwork and although Waveney had lots of the play they couldn't add to their tally. The second half saw Rangers attack hard and fast for the first 10 minutes but then Waveney took control and steadied the game, which was played in a really competitive and fair manner. Hi-Tech MoM: Corey Hurren.

Blundeston Magpies U12 6, Kirkley and Pakefield U12D 0

AFTER some early Magpies pressure with Sam and James going close, a good passing move put Connell clear to score from inside the box. Connell fired home his first of the season to open the scoring. With half time approaching Kirkley broke into the box and looked certain to score but Bexley produced a brilliant save. After the interval Connell broke into the box and crossed the ball along the goal line for Adam to smash home his first of the season. Man of the match Connell continued to shine having further chances before James scored the fourth in a goalmouth scramble. Sam scored the fifth from inside the box and the sixth with a hard shot from the edge of the box. Defenders Jordan and Ryan also went close to their first goals late on.

Norfolk Women's and Girls' League Waveney U14 Girls 5, Docking Devils U14 0

IN the first ever meeting between these two teams, the game progressed slowly until the 22nd minute. A super through ball from Paige in midfield found Geneva in a well placed advanced position to go round the keeper and score. Four minutes later Paige turned well and played a neat ball across the goalmouth for striker Geneva to score. Just minutes later Waveney kept up the pressure from a corner and captain Danni's powerful shot was only parried by the keeper to Emily to follow up and score. Two mintues it was 4-0 as Geneva finished well to secure her hat-trick. Just before half time Jessie and Paige combined with another super low ball forced across the face of goal for Geneva to tap in and make it 5-0 to Waveney at half time.

Waveney Foxes Girls U10 8, Thorpe United 0

THE Foxes sprung straight on the attack, but the Thorpe girls defended well. E Barnes opened the scoring after five minutes and the Foxes doubled their lead on 14 minutes as Barnes' shot was diverted past her own keeper by a Thorpe defender. Three minutes before half time, E Barnes grabbed her second goal of the game to give the Foxes a 3-0 interval lead. She secured her hat-trick after only 30 seconds of the second half and J Goldspink then made it 5-0 with a well placed shot.

Barnes added two further goals before G Colby popped up with a well deserved goal on the final whistle, to complete the scoring. Complete Bathrooms PoM: T Robson.
