From a mince pie workshop to a beloved panto with famous faces, here are seven major events happening in Suffolk in December.

1. Mince Pie Workshop

When: Saturday, December 7 and Saturday, December 14

Cost: £21.50 for adults and £16.50 for children (£6.50 for members)

Learn how to roll, fill and bake traditional mince pies alongside festive flavoured buttercream.

The price of the workshop also includes entry into the museum.

2. Jack and the Beanstalk

When: Tuesday, December 17 until Tuesday, December 31

Cost: From £15

Journey up the beanstalk with Jack as he tries to rescue his sweetheart Jill from the Giant's castle in the clouds. 

This year's star-studded cast includes soap actor Michael Greco, TikTok and West End star Abbie Budden and TV dance sensation Louie Spence.

3. Christmas in the Park

When: Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15

Cost: £8 for adults and £5.99 for children aged between three and 14

The new festival will feature a range of festive activities including visits from Santa, games with elves and live Christmas cooking.

Children can enjoy a Frozen sing-along with Anna, Elsa, and Olaf, decorate gingerbread at Mrs Claus' Bakery, and have fun at the fair.

4. Beauty and the Beast

The handsome Count has been cursed to spend his life as a frightening beast - will he learn how to love before the last petal of the magic rose falls?

Mis-Teeq's Sabrina Washington will take to the stage as the Witch Mauvaise while former X Factor star Stevi Ritchie will bring the strut and style of Gaston to life.

5. The Big Christmas Show

When: Tuesday, December 10

Cost: £24 including £2 booking fee

Suffolk-born singer Steven Yallop is returning with The Big Christmas Show following the success of last year's event. 

He'll be joined by five youth groups to perform songs and dances to get you in the festive spirit.

6. Suffolk Tractor Light Parade

When: Sunday, December 15

Cost: Free

Around 130 tractors decorated in Christmas lights will parade from Campsea Ashe and makes its way through Wickham Market, Melton, Woodbridge, Eyke, Rendelsham and Tunstall.

This year the parade is raising money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, Suffolk Libraries and Eastern Community Assistance Team.

7. Festive Movie Afternoon

Where: Parrot at Aldringham, B1353 Aldringham, Leiston, IP16 4PY

When: Sunday, December 22

Cost: £10 per person

The Parrot is screening the 1994 classic Miracle on 34th Street to get visitors in the festive mood. 

The price of the ticket includes entry as well as a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate.
