While some householders and dog walkers were unaware of anything untoward in the residential road on Monday afternoon, one couple - who have lived on the street for six years - said they had seen lots of police activity over the weekend.
A neighbour said: "I've never seen so many police cars.
"We've been living in this street for six years and it has always been quiet.
"It was around 3.15am (on Saturday morning) and officers and the dog unit were looking along the road and there was lots of bright lights when it is always dark here once the street lights are off.
"Then on Sunday there were three or four police cars and a forensics van."
Admitting that apart from problems with speeding motorists along the road - which is a 30mph zone - they added: "This road is a quiet road - it always has been."
