A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed several times.
The attack happened between 1am and 2am on Saturday at a house in Carlton Colville, near Lowestoft, leaving the woman in a serious condition.
Police were quick to arrive at the scene in Lowestoft Road where they found a woman in her 30s suffering from several stab wounds.
Paramedics provided care and she was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
Officers quickly began a search to find a suspect, who was known to the victim, and 17 hours later a man was arrested and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Station.
Following the investigation, Ryan Leggett, of Lowestoft Road, Carlton Colville has been charged with attempted murder and a second offence of threatening a person with a knife in a private place, with respect to another victim, a teenage child.
He was due to appear at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court today.
