Gale force winds are expected to hit Suffolk this week as temperatures drop.

According to the Met Office, gale force 11 winds will reach the county this weekend.

It comes after the Met Office said wintry hazards could hit the county this week

Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Rebekah Hicks said: "The whole of the UK is likely to experience a spell of several days of cold, potentially disruptive weather next week.

“Warnings for wintry hazards, including snow and ice, are possible, so it’s important to stay up to date with the latest forecast.”

A cold weather alert has been issued for the county by the UK Health Security Agency.

The alert is in effect from 10am on Monday until 6pm on Saturday as temperatures in the county are set to plummet to lows of -4C.
