A historic pub has extended a special autumnal offer for another month after it proved such a hit with customers.
The management team behind pub and restaurant group, Moss & Co, last month called on people to 'use local' as they launched a 50 per cent off main meals offer during Monday to Friday lunchtimes at The Angel Inn in Wangford.
And after sparking an influx of new visitors to sample the menu at the pub on High Street in the scenic village near Southwold and Beccles, the independent family-owned hospitality group has now extended the offer until December 13.
Moss and Co have been running gastro pubs across Suffolk and Norfolk for more than a decade, as they currently have nine venues in the portfolio - The Jolly Sailors in Pakefield, The Village Maid in Lound, The Bell Inn in Carlton Colville, The Harbour Inn and Mossy's in Lowestoft, The White Horse in Badingham as well as The Commodore and Moss & Co at Broadlands in Oulton Broad.
Admitting they've seen "so many new faces for our 50pc offer, so we've decided to extend it for a little bit longer," Bobbie Fensome, operations manager for Moss & Co Trading Ltd, said: "We have seen an increase of guests entering our doors to try out our autumnal menu.
"Our main goal for this offer was to draw new guests in who are familiar with Moss & Co but haven't necessarily ever visited the Angel Inn, despite it being part of the group for five years.
"The Angel still showcases the Moss & Co classics - such as the locally famous 'Chicken in a Bucket' - but head chef Jack Herbert and the rest of his kitchen team are refining each and every dish to steer Moss & Co into new territory of a finer dining experience.
"We are thrilled to hear everyone's feedback and have already seen customers returning to try something different on the menu."
It comes as the pub group said they are "hopeful" that the government takes steps to support the hospitality sector after the recent budget announcement.
Mrs Fensome said: "We're using these offers in some of our venues in the best way we can, by encouraging regular and new guests to use local, shop local and eat local."
