Armed police have swarmed a seaside village after reports a gun had been stolen.

Officers were called to Kessingland on Wednesday morning following reports that an air rifle had been taken from a vehicle.

They located and arrested a man in his late 30s on suspicion of theft and possession of a firearm.

He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was bailed until December 5.
