A significant scheme of works to repair a sea wall looks set to be carried out in a Suffolk town next year.
It comes as the second phase of works to the North Wall in Southwold continued this week.
The works - taking place at the northern end of the Southwold Pier car park - are expected to continue until Friday, November 15.
The repairs are being carried out by Balfour Beatty on behalf of Coastal Partnership East, which is made up of the region's coastal councils to share and manage resources.
After the first phase of repairs to the Southwold North Wall were completed last year, the latest works started last Monday, November 4.
A Coastal Partnership East spokesman said: "We have been completing some works in Southwold at the northern end of the Southwold Pier car park.
"Our contractor will be digging two bore holes to gather geotechnical information which will inform the design of the main works to repair the sea wall toe starting in spring 2025."
With toe piling a type of seawall protection, machinery has been operating in the Pier's car park during the works.
