A Lowestoft brewery is toasting further success after triumphing at a prestigious national contest.

Earlier this year Green Jack Brewery in Lowestoft was crowned as one of the best in the country after the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) named it as the joint best in its category at the Great British Beer Festival Winter 2024.

The awards back in February saw Green Jack Brewery's Baltic Trader jointly share the honour of winning CAMRA’s champion winter beer of Britain with West Yorkshire-based Elland Brewery’s 1872 Porter.

With the Champion Beer of Great Britain Awards for 2024 held at the Kelham Hall beer and cider festival in Newark, the various winners were unveiled last week.

It comes as judging for the competition takes two years to complete, starting with individual nominations from CAMRA members and tasting panel nominations, then regional competitions.

With each round of judging using a strict blind tasting policy, it culminated in a rigorous and hard-fought final round of judging last week.
