A Post Office branch in Lowestoft is set to shut its doors and move into one of the town's longest-standing bakeries.

New plans could see the North Lowestoft Post Office move into Bushells Bakery on Tennyson Road.

The current High Street branch is operated by a temporary postmaster but now a permanent replacement is seeking a space for a long-term site.

The bakery would continue to serve food and operate alongside a new Post Office serving point at the counter.

Once relocated the Post Office service hours would increase by 16.5 hours a week by opening earlier on Saturday mornings, staying open throughout Friday afternoons and not closing for lunch.
