Motorists and commuters are being warned to expect delays as a road is temporarily closed and traffic is diverted for a week.

It comes as Cadent continues to carry out gas works around Reydon and Southwold.

With gas pipes being replaced as part of a major 36-week scheme of works, delays are expected around Reydon and Southwold until April next year.

The project has seen existing pipelines, which were originally installed in the 1930s and 1940s, upgraded and in total, around 12.9km - the equivalent of 8.01 miles - of metallic pipe is being replaced.

This week the UK's biggest gas distribution network, Cadent Gas, is carrying out works on Green Lane in Reydon - with a road closure and diversion route of around 885m in force between Monday, October 14 and Monday, October 21.

According to the Causeway One Network roadworks map, delays are likely as the work is carried out.

Travellers using First Buses and BorderBus are also being warned of the temporary closure.

The First Bus services 99 and 99A are being diverted on Wangford Road, as a spokesman said the "turns onto either Green Lane or Jermyns Road" will be omitted.

The BorderBus service 146 "will be unable to serve stops on Jermyns Road, Boydens or Green Lane, and will divert via Wangford Road" with the nearest alternative stops said to be The Randolph or Old School Drive.

The ongoing works will see Coxs Lane in Reydon closed between Monday, October 21 and Monday, October 28.

Delays are also likely on Wangford Road as works are carried out between Monday, October 21 and Friday, November 1 with multi-way traffic control signals in operation.
