Urgent Anglian Water repairs on A12 Station Square Lowestoft

"Urgent maintenance works" have been carried out over the past week, with traffic being diverted in Lowestoft.

Picture: Mick Howes (Image: Mick Howes) With the works taking place near to the Lowestoft railway station short stay car park, it has affected northbound First Bus services in Lowestoft - with the X2, X22, 109 and 99 services unable to serve the station interchange as they have had to divert via Waveney Road.

According to the Causeway one network highways website, "delays are likely" for the Anglian Water sewage repair works that are currently listed as being completed by 11.59pm tonight (October 10).

It comes after "subsidence on the highway" was reported, with subsequent damage leading to Anglian Water repairs.

Picture: Mick Howes (Image: Mick Howes) An Anglian Water spokesman said: "Our teams are currently carrying out urgent maintenance work to repair a sewer in the carriageway up the road from  Lowestoft rail station on the A12 Station Square.

"In order to keep everyone safe we have had to close one of the lanes.

"All being well, the lane will be reopened by the end of the week.
