An award-winning theatre group is set to delight audiences with its rendition of the West End musical Cats
Lowestoft Players plan to reimagine the classic, setting it amid the ruins of a bombed theatre during London's 1940s Blitz.
The players say the show's costume design is sure to make quite an impression, thanks to the creative skills of member, Stephen Wilson, and the Players' wardrobe team.
Based on T.S. Eliot's 'Old Possum’s Book Of Practical Cats,' the musical centres around the Jellicle Ball, a special night when the feline characters share their tales with their wise leader, Old Deuteronomy.

One lucky cat is then selected for rebirth into a new Jellicle life.
The coveted role of Grizabella will be portrayed by the Polly Blowers, a performer with a history of successful leading roles in the Players’ past shows.
Some of her memorable performances include Doralee Rose in 9 to 5, Rose in Aspects of Love, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, and Eva Peron in Evita.
The highlight of the performance will undoubtedly be Polly's rendition of the well-known musical number 'Memory,' originally performed by Elaine Page in the 1981 stage production of Cats.
This powerful song represents a poignant recall of Grizabella’s glamorous past and lament for acceptance.

Polly said: “I’m just so excited. I love to sing, especially a big number.
"It will be such an honour to sing something which the legendary Elaine Page made so famous.”
Fans will have the opportunity to watch Polly bring Grizabella to life from September 20 until September 28 at the Players Theatre, Lowestoft.
