An acclaimed musician is set to debut at a Lowestoft jazz club and will honour his South African roots.
Adam Glasser, harmonica virtuoso and guardian of South African musical tradition, will be performing at the Milestones Jazz Club on Sunday, September 1.
Raised in Johannesburg, Mr Glasser was influenced by local musicians and has since worked with stars including Sting and Hugh Masekela.
In addition to playing in theatre productions at the Royal National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe, Mr Glasser has also released two critically acclaimed jazz albums.
He will be bringing a band of leading contemporary jazz musicians, including innovative guitarist Ant Law, BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year winner Ewan Hastie, and highly sought-after drummer Corrie Dick.
The band promises a fusion of American jazz with South African folk rhythms, to be performed through Mr Glasser's distinctive harmonica sound.
The event will take place at The Hatfield Hotel, where doors will open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Admission is £14 at the door or online, with a reduced rate of £7 for under 25s.
