A sunny Bank Holiday Monday saw hundreds enjoy the power of kindness at a free mental health festival.

In partnership with Lowestoft Town Council, Norfolk and Waveney Mind hosted the third annual Festival of Kindness at Sparrows Nest public gardens.

Large numbers of people spent the day enjoying music performances, acrobatics, and a variety of arts and crafts.

Highlights of the family-friendly event included face painting, circus skills, and woodwork art.

Children were thrilled by the entertainment provided by Ben Brason, a gymnast and acrobat from King’s Lynn, also known as Backflip Ben.

Mr Brason, who holds a world record for 26 consecutive backflips on spring-loaded stilts, was a crowd favourite.

Music enthusiasts also enjoyed performances by singer-songwriters like Milly Anna and Maple Ward, and artists from Suffolk Sober Spaces, who use music in their recovery journey.

The main aim of the festival was to emphasise the importance of kindness in maintaining mental health and to raise funds for Norfolk and Waveney Mind’s services.
