A unique dancing partner caused laughter among care home residents during National Afternoon Tea Week.

Greensleeves Care residents and staff from Harleston House in Lowestoft were invited to Broadlands in Oulton Broad to mark the occasion.

The homes have been fostering connections and friendships through various activities since the start of the year.

Activity lead Gareth Harding said: “We have seen residents from both homes bonding over games of new aged kurling, coffee and quiz mornings and more recently a tea dance."

Broadland's activity lead Lee Ainley arranged a tea dance, introducing a homemade dancing partner named 'Claude'. The innovative dancing prompted much joy among residents.

Gladys Davis, a resident from Harleston House said: "Do you come here often", while dancing with Claude.

The activity showcased how imagination can breed fun in care homes and how it can help friendships among the two client groups thrive.

Mr Harding said: “It’s great that we can embrace these connections between our homes and highlight through our social media pages what great fun your care home can be."
