Norwich City legends have returned to the football pitch to help raise funds for a worthy cause.
The Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium in Lowestoft hosted a football match in aid of the Big C cancer charity.
Held at the home of Lowestoft Town FC on Saturday, May 18, former Canaries' players - including Grant Holt, Simeon Jackson, Cedric Anselin, Wes Hoolahan, Simon Lappin and Mike Milligan - graced the pitch once more.
They were part of the Big C X1 squad that took on a team from Help Delete Cancer, whose squad included NCFC women’s central midfielder Millie Daviss and King’s Lynn Town’s Holly Williams.
Organisers said the family-friendly football event - sponsored by Nicholsons Solicitors and JDMA Paving & Landscaping - turned out to be a "fantastic fundraiser for Big C" as more than £6,500 was raised for the local cancer charity.
As players and spectators took to the pitch before the match, a crossbar challenge was held along with opportunities to have their photos taken with the City favourites as autographs were signed.
At half time an exciting penalty shoot-out was also held, with face painting and more on-field fun for all ages.
The squads were led out by mascots Fletcher Ellis, 11, and Sofia Honey Adcock, 10 - who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, a form of blood cancer, when she was five.
After Help Delete Cancer had taken an early two goal lead, the Big C XI side eventually won 5-3.
Rob Tiffen, of Nicholsons Solicitors handed the player of the match award to Help Delete Cancer’s Josh McCammon, and said: "Everyone is affected by cancer at some point in their lives, whether they have it themselves or a loved one is diagnosed."
Tom Holmes, events and engagement manager at Big C, said: "We couldn’t be more delighted with the support we received from all the players, partners and sponsors for this event in order to make it an unforgettable day."
