Contractors will be carrying out work at the site of a prominent beach access.
Work is being carried out in Pakefield, Lowestoft over the next couple of days with surveys to "improve coastal assets" under way.
Coastal Partnership East – which brings together the coastal management resources and expertise from North Norfolk District Council, Great Yarmouth Borough Council and East Suffolk Council – has appointed RAB Consultants to carry out "a survey of the All Saints ramp" in Pakefield.
According to Coastal Partnership East, the work will be taking place "along the access ramp to the beach" next to All Saints Road in Pakefield.
With a temporary site compound being set up in the All Saints Road car park, a spokesman for Coastal Partnership East said: "The smaller ramp to the north will remain open throughout the work."
As work is being carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 23/24, the spokesman added: "If access to the ramp is required during this time, our contractor can pause their work and safely escort the public past the working area.
"The work will include taking core samples to understand the make up of the ground beneath the ramp and general surveyance."
Locals are being asked to take note of the contractor’s signage when work is under way.
The survey of the All Saints beach access ramp "will improve coastal assets" with the work described as "an important part of East Suffolk Council’s commitment to ensure that the coastal assets they are responsible for are working effectively and are safe for the public."
The spokesman added that the Pakefield work is "helping to protect our beautiful and important coastline economically and environmentally and for the enjoyment of communities and visitors for generations to come."
