Shopkeepers in east Suffolk are being urged to "be wary" of a fraud scam.
Police in the Southwold and surrounding areas are calling on shopkeepers to be aware of a scam, after two stores were targeted in the coastal town.
A spokesman for Halesworth Police said: "Police are asking shopkeepers in the Southwold and surrounding areas to be wary of a fraud scam.
"If follows two incidents that took place in Southwold on Saturday, April 6."
One of the scam incidents was reported at a store on Queen Street, Southwold at about 3.40pm with the second reported in a store on Market Place, Southwold at about 4.20pm.
The police spokesman added: "In both cases the suspect - when paying for an item - confused the cashier by wanting change and then swapping notes as they left with extra money."
