A weekend of live music will kickstart a pub group's return to a prominent waterside venue.
The management team behind pub and restaurant group, Moss & Co, will return to The Commodore, in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft from this Friday.
The former owners will return to the venue just over two years after the independent family-owned hospitality group had left the waterside pub on Commodore Road.
The return comes after Moss & Co had spent more than a decade at the helm of the pub situated on the edge of Oulton Broad.
After a renewal of the lease was not granted by landlords the Stonegate Pub Partners back in March 2022, it reopened the following month with new owners following a £200,000 investment from the Stonegate Group.
But after recent talks with Stonegate, Moss & Co has agreed a new five year lease that has seen them return to the venue once more - with the pub group owners "coming home" as it reopens on Friday, April 12.
Now, after "a busy first day decorating" on Monday, and teasing the return in social media posts, Moss and Co Trading Ltd said: "It will be like we never left."
Adam Vass, operations manager, for Moss and Co Trading Ltd, told this newspaper in February that the plans and aspirations for The Commodore were: "To bring back the good days and make it the number one venue to go to in Suffolk."
And to kickstart the return, an opening weekend will feature live music starting with Terry Adams - "famous at The Commodore" - from 8pm on Friday night.
It continues with DJ Chris Stafford entertaining from 7pm on Saturday, April 13 ahead of live music from Gee Strings on Sunday from 7pm.
A Moss and Co spokesman said: "We're kickstarting our opening weekend back where we belong with a weekend filled with live music.
"Commodore beer garden, Terry Adams and chicken in a bucket, what's not to love?"
