Doorbell camera footage has captured the moment an 18-year-old learner driver's car was smashed up by a vandal in an evening attack.

The vandalism to a Mini Cooper happened at 8.30pm yesterday evening in Field Lane, Kessingland, near Lowestoft.

A man can be seen in the video wearing florescent workman's trousers and using an object to smash the Mini Cooper's windows.

The video also captures the sound of the car being vandalised.

After smashing the car windows the footage shows the man jogging away from the scene and out of shot.

As far as the victim is aware, nothing was stolen from his car, and they do not know who or why somebody has done this to the Mini.

Suffolk police have been made aware of the incident and confirmed they are investigating.

A spokeswoman said: "Police have received a report of criminal damage occurring last night (18 March) at approximately 8.20pm, whereby a car parked in Field Lane, Kessingland, had its rear and side windows smashed.

"Any witnesses, or anyone with information about this incident, are asked to contact the Crime Coordination Centre by emailing CCC@suffolk.police.uk or by calling 101 and quoting reference CAD 40 of 19 March."
