Owners of a former factory site that has been closed for more than 13 years admitted they are "excited" to bring forward plans for its redevelopment.
Plans that could see up to 500 new homes built on the former Jeld Wen factory site in Lowestoft will be showcased at a public exhibition next week.
With the environmental impact of potential demolition and regeneration of the redundant Jeld Wen industrial site in Lowestoft - which is owned by Statuslist Limited - being explored, development consultancy, Pegasus Group, recently submitted a Scoping Request for an EIA Proposed Development to East Suffolk Council.
This week, a Pegasus Group spokesman said: "Statuslist Limited has owned the former Jeld Wen factory site for more than 30 years.
"We can confirm that prior to submitting an outline planning application to East Suffolk Council we are holding a public exhibition for the community to view and comment on the emerging proposals.
"Letters advertising the event have been sent to approximately 1,600 of our closest neighbours and we hope to see and hear from as many people as possible to help shape our emerging plans."
Tom Nicholson, senior advisor to Statuslist, said that the company "is excited to bring forward plans" for the vacant factory site on Waveney Drive.
Mr Nicholson said: "Our emerging proposals will deliver positive transformational change to this major brownfield site by demolishing the existing buildings, remediating and raising the land to bring it out of the flood plain and constructing up to 500 new homes.
"Additionally, significant new employment uses fronting Lake Lothing, along with associated infrastructure, landscaping and pedestrian and cycle links connecting the scheme with the wider area are being tabled.
"The proposals seek to create a new high-quality and vibrant mixed-use community and represent a very significant investment and vote of confidence in the future of Lowestoft."
The public exhibition takes place at East Point Pavilion on Royal Plain on Wednesday, February 14 from 2pm to 7pm.
Any feedback or comments should be submitted by February 28 via the exhibition, online or email jeldwendevelopment@pegasusgroup.co.uk
