People are being encouraged to have a cuppa and a catch-up as part of a special campaign.

The Lowestoft and Waveney Samaritans Brew Monday event will be held at Lowestoft railway station on Monday, January 15 between 10am and 2pm.

With the third Monday in January sometimes referred to as 'the most difficult day of the year' - this is a myth.

The Samaritans have long campaigned to dispel the idea that the third Monday of January is particularly difficult.

A spokesman said: "At Samaritans we know there's no such thing as ‘Blue Monday’ – we all have our good days and our bad days, and those aren’t for the calendar to decide.

"So we say it's time to stop this myth about Monday being 'blue' and instead start a conversation over a brew."

The Brew Monday event will be in the Parcels Office at Lowestoft railway station.

The event, which runs from 10am to 2pm, is sponsored by the Wherry Lines Community Rail Partnership and Lowestoft Central Project.
