More than 140 new homes could be built on arable land in a village as part of a major "phased development" - provided plans get the go-ahead.
A "hybrid application" has been submitted "offering a balanced mix" of 142 new homes on land in Kessingland, near Lowestoft.
Plans based around "a phased development of 135 dwellings with associated drainage and external works, including the use of up to 2.1 hectares (ha) of land to extend the existing playing fields" and "seven custom/self-build dwellings" on land east of London Road in Kessingland have been lodged with East Suffolk Council.
It comes after a public consultation event was held in Kessingland in July last year.
A design and access statement prepared by agents WT Design Ltd on behalf of the applicants Badger Building, states: "The site is located to the east of London Road, Kessingland and the proposed development will be contained within a land parcel of approximately 9.95 hectares.
"The proposed site is currently arable farmland divided into three fields, which includes a large open space area to the east of the development.
"This area measures 2.1 hectares and will be gifted to the parish council as a playing field extension.
"The development has been designed with the local community in mind, ensuring the scheme contributes to a more connected, cohesive parish - making Kessingland a place where all generations can live now and in the future."
The applicants said they had received "positive feedback" from the consultation event and added that "concerns have been reviewed" within the plans.
However, some concerns have been raised about the size of the development and there not being sufficient capacity in the school or doctors surgery.
A post on the Kessingland Parish Council website said: "This is an application which will affect the whole of the village and therefore the application will be placed before the parish council for consideration so that a recommendation can be provided to East Suffolk Council, who manage the planning process."
The proposals are currently "awaiting decision" with East Suffolk Council.
