A Lowestoft moped owner has captured the moment thieves tried to steal his vehicle.

Michael Brett, who lives in Henham Road, captured CCTV footage of two men attempting to steal his moped early on Sunday morning. 

According to police, the two suspects broke the steering lock on the moped and after being disturbed by a member of the public the offenders left the scene.

Wearing dark clothing and face coverings, one of the men approached Mr Brett's front door as seen in the footage. It happened between 12.20am and 12.50am.

The news comes around the same time as the theft of a KTM 125 motorbike from Southfield Gardens at about 12.30am on Monday, December 4.

It is unknown if the two incidents are linked.
