"This looks even better close up."
That was the reaction of church leaders as an amazing display of poppies now adorns a war memorial in a coastal town.
As preparations for Armistice Day and Remembrance Day services gather pace in Lowestoft, the War Memorial outside All Saints' & St Margaret's Church in Pakefield features a special display once more.
For more than 1,000 knitted and crocheted poppies have again been created by the Pakefield Beach Belles Women’s Institute group for the display on the War Memorial.
With guests paying tribute to the fallen this weekend, there will also be the chance to observe the amazing display as Pakefield Parish Church holds an Armistice Day Service around the War Memorial at 10.55am on Saturday, November 11 and a Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade.
With Harrods donating the netting to which the poppies are attached once more, a Pakefield Parish Church spokesman said: "This looks even better close up.
"The Pakefield Belles W.I. have decorated our war memorial beautifully!
"We will as always be having an Armistice service at 10.55 am on Saturday with laying of wreaths, and Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade at 10.30am on Sunday, November 12, starting at 10.30am, with two minutes silence at 11am and placing of wreaths after the service."
