A scheme of maintenance work and repairs is continuing along a stretch of beach in a coastal town.
Work is being carried out for three weeks in Lowestoft with repairs and maintenance "of coastal protection assets" under way.
With the work being "spread across the coastal defences" between Ness Point and Links Road in Lowestoft, seawall repairs started last Monday, October 9.
As restrictions remain in place over the next two weeks as seawall maintenance is completed, the repairs will be carried out "across the Silver Rail and North Denes frontage" in Lowestoft.
Coastal Partnership East – which brings together the coastal management resources and expertise from North Norfolk District Council, Great Yarmouth Borough Council and East Suffolk Council – has appointed the East Suffolk Water Management Board (ESWMB) to carry out "repairs and maintenance work at Silver Rail and North Denes."
According to Coastal Partnership East, a temporary site has been "set up on the lower promenade."
A spokesman for Coastal Partnership East said: "ESWMB will be undertaking repair and maintenance works to the concrete seawall, including repairing joints and replacing or repairing damaged slabs, where necessary.
"We will work hard to keep any inconvenience to a minimum and ask the public to please take note of the contractor’s signage when work is happening."
With all work being subject to safe working conditions - such as tide and weather condition dependent - the spokesman added: "This work will improve flood defence assets and is an important part of ESC’s commitment to ensure that the coastal assets they are responsible for are working effectively and are safe for the public, helping to protect our beautiful and important coastline economically and environmentally and for the enjoyment of communities and visitors for generations to come."
