A scheme that could see almost 200 new homes built in a coastal town has been unveiled.
A 'hybrid planning application' has been submitted to transform "agricultural and paddock land" in Oulton, Lowestoft with 197 new homes.
Plans centring around the development on 8.27 hectares - 20.4 acres - of land to the north of Hall Lane and south of Union Lane in Oulton have been lodged with East Suffolk Council.
A design and access statement prepared by agents Cornerstone Planning Ltd on behalf of the applicant PWM Tubby Ltd said the "Hybrid Planning Application" is seeking "outline planning permission for 163 dwellings, associated infrastructure, public open space and a pre-school site (if required) together with full application for 34 dwellings, vehicular access, associated infrastructure and public open space."
The proposed development on land to the western edge of Oulton will be a development of 197 homes, vehicle access, public open space and associated infrastructure.
The application states: "Phase one of the development is for 34 dwellings fronting Hall Lane."
The blueprints also include six areas of public open space and a children's play area on "agricultural and paddock land" in Oulton.
It adds: "The proposals are for 197 dwellings - 34 as full application and 163 as outline - comprising a mix of one, two, three, and four-bedroom houses; and one, two and three bedroom bungalows, together with areas of open space."
The plans also say that the site will provide a "minimum of 443 cycle parking spaces, comprising 394 long-stay spaces for residents and an additional 49 short-stay spaces for visitors".
It added: "The proposed development will provide a total of 455 car parking spaces, comprising 306 long-stay bays.
"A total of 49 accessible bays for Blue Badge holders will be provided."
With the proposals currently "awaiting decision", East Suffolk Council is due to make a final decision in the coming weeks.
