Charities are being urged to apply for a festive boost this Christmas.
Applications have now opened for charities and organisations hoping to benefit from the money raised at the 2023 Lowestoft Christmas Day Swim.
The organising team is looking for worthwhile charities or organisations to become a recipient of the shared sponsorship monies generated by the swim on Christmas Day.
Charities or organisations must showcase who they are, and how any monies received will benefit Lowestoft residents.
Applicants must be local and not nationally backed and can ensure that money raised will stay within the local area.
Matt Stebbings, swim volunteer, said: "Every year the swim gets a great turnout and we are getting back on track since the pandemic.
"This year will be the first year we have opened it up to local organisations since the pandemic and we are welcoming as many charity/organisation applications as we can.
"We want the money raised to go as far as possible to help those who need support within the Lowestoft area.
"As always, we want to continue the vision for the swim of being a local swim, local people, for local charities.
"We hope for an even bigger turnout and get back to the numbers pre-pandemic and also raise as much money as we can."
The 2023 swim will once again be spearheaded by Everyone Active and supported by JME, HM Coastguard, Lowestoft Volunteer Lifeguard Corps, Lowestoft Lions, St John Ambulance and RNLI.
Donna Taylor, Everyone Active’s general manager at Waterlane Leisure Centre in Lowestoft, said: "We are delighted to be involved in this special event, which is of such importance to the local community and fantastic charitable causes.
"It will be great to welcome everyone on Christmas Day."
To apply to become a beneficiary, applications are asked to complete this online form https://forms.office.com/e/YALeD1ga64 and return it before the deadline of October 31.
If your charity is successful in its application you will be notified accordingly.
