A much-loved Suffolk coastal town has been named among the best seaside destinations in the UK by a national newspaper.
The Daily Express has named Southwold in the list, selecting the best spots across the UK.
Southwold is no stranger to national recognition with its award-winning beach often being named among the best in the UK.
The Express praised the town for its "pretty Georgian architecture, independent shops and cafes" away from the bustle of London.
The paper also wrote: "It also boasts a stacked and diverse events calendar, from the Arts Festival and model-yacht regatta to the considerably louder Latitude Festival.
"As if Southwold's cultural standing couldn't get any higher, George Orwell also spent time there as a teenager and lived in the town for five years, leaving for the final time in 1939."
