A search for performers for an inaugural town event has produced "a good response."
Britain's most easterly Pride event is now set to take centre stage across two prominent parks later this year.
Lowestoft Town Council has expressed delight as they organise "Lowestoft’s first Pride event."
A town council spokesman said: "Promoted as 'Britain’s Most Easterly Pride' and taking place across Sparrows Nest Gardens and The Ness Park - Lowestoft’s most easterly parks - Lowestoft Pride will take place on Saturday, August 5."
With the aim of making the Pride event enjoyable for everyone with a real family-friendly feel to the day, the town council spokesman added: "This family-friendly celebration will include a variety of live entertainment and stalls throughout the afternoon with the event starting at noon.
"An initial callout for performers and organisations has already provided a good response."
If there are any performers - musical, spoken word, dance and so forth - or volunteer organisations who would like to be a part of this exciting event, please contact the town council at admin@lowestofttowncouncil.gov.uk
Further details on the programme of events will be published soon.
