A popular nightclub is to have its licence reviewed after police concerns were raised.
Mossy's nightclub, in Lowestoft, has been temporarily closed after an application for a "summary review of a premises licence" was made by the police.
Investigations are under way after trouble flared and a man was injured close to the nightspot on Royal Thoroughfare earlier this month.
One man was arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm, with another man later arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
A Suffolk police spokesman said: "Police were called to Royal Plain in Lowestoft at 11.08pm on Saturday, April 8 by the East of England Ambulance Service following a report a man had been assaulted.
"A man was arrested later that evening on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.
"He was subsequently further arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
"He was bailed to return to police on June 26.
"A second man has since been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
"He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre and later released on bail to return to police on June 26."
It has since emerged that the incident involved an alleged "assault by door staff."
With notices listing the application for summary review of a premises licence having gone up at the popular venue, it states that the "grounds for the application for review" relate to "Serious Disorder (prevention of crime and disorder)" and "Perverting the course of justice following an assault by door staff."
Mossy's - which is located within the The Harbour Inn in Lowestoft, and is part of Moss and co hospitality - is now due to to have its licence reviewed by East Suffolk Council, following a request from Suffolk Police, at a meeting next month.
Management at Moss and co "are working closely with the police and council" and this includes "employing a brand new door supervisors team".
With the application for a summary review having been made by the police, an East Suffolk Council spokesman said: "A meeting of the licensing sub-committee is due to take place on Wednesday, May 3 to review the premises licence for The Harbour Inn (Mossy’s), Royal Thoroughfare, Lowestoft.
"This follows an application for a summary review of the venue’s premises licence.
"Any cancellation or suspension of events is at the discretion of the venue/operator and not by requirement of the Licensing Authority."
In an "announcement" on its Facebook page last week, Mossy’s posted: "It is with regret that we have to announce, due to circumstances out of out control, Mossy's nightclub will be unable to open for 'The Friday Clique' for the next couple of weekends.
"We look forward to welcoming you all back to party with us in the coming weeks, and will keep you updated on the timeline as soon as we can."
With The Harbour closed on Mondays and Tuesdays outside of the peak season, the pub and restaurant is currently open from 11am between Wednesday and Sunday with food served from noon.
It recently launched a new menu, with roast dinners on Sunday's proving very popular.
Adam Vass, operations manager at Moss and co trading, said: "This was an extremely unfortunate situation out of our control but we are working closely with the police and council to resolve the situation as soon as possible, this includes employing a brand new door supervisors team.
"We hope to be open very soon so keep an eye on social media and our website for further information."
