As East Suffolk Council prepares for its second election as a unified authority next month, the Waveney Labour Party has unveiled its candidates for the district elections.
They have announced that "22 local candidates" will be standing in the Waveney ward seats across Lowestoft, Beccles, Bungay, Worlingham, Wainford and Lothingland.
Voting takes place on May 4 across the district - and for the first time people who go to polling stations will have to show photographic identification before being given ballot papers.
Labour group leader, Peter Byatt, said: "We are delighted to have such a strong set of candidates standing to represent people in the Waveney area of East Suffolk Council.
"We stand ready to deliver for residents by keeping council tax low to help with the cost-of-living crisis, rebuilding our high streets and acting on environmental concerns."
Labour's prospective parliamentary candidate for Waveney, Jess Asato, said: "I look forward to campaigning with Labour’s candidates to build a better Waveney – tackling the Tory cost-of-living crisis and standing up for our vital public services."
