Another major milestone has been marked in the construction of a long-awaited third crossing.
After the second and third major steel sections of the Gull Wing bridge arrived in Lowestoft from the Netherlands last week, they have now been installed.
With the installation completed over the past few days, it marks the "first section of the bridge to go over water."
The North Approach Viaduct (NAV2 and NAV3) sections being used in the construction of the £126.75m Gull Wing bridge in Lowestoft have been carefully maneouvred into place.
The steel spans being used in construction of the bridge - which is being delivered by Suffolk County Council and built by Farrans Construction - were lifted from the barge, positioned on to the pier and joined together.
With the NAV2 section moved late on Friday afternoon, the installation of NAV3 was completed on Monday.
A Gull Wing spokesman said: "NAV3 is now in place, marking the first section of the bridge to go over water.
"Work will now start progressing on preparing the steel and installing the decks.
"South side viaducts (SAV 1-4) due to be delivered later this year."
