After the pandemic and a three-year layoff the Milestones Jazz Club is set to restart its music nights this weekend.
The jazz club in Lowestoft is hosting The Art Themen Organ Trio on Sunday night at the Hotel Hatfield on the Esplanade.
Known for his exciting and endlessly inventive playing, Mr Themen has played in jazz, blues and pop settings with a host of tops acts, from Alexis Korner and Jack Bruce to Stan Tracey.
For most of his working life, Mr Themen ran a parallel career as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon.
Following his retirement, Mr Themen has been focusing on his music career and is known for the sounds of the modern jazz saxophone.

The new starting times at Milestones Jazz Club are doors 7pm, music from 7.30pm
Milestones Jazz Club takes place in a basement room that requires the use of stairs.
