It served generations of pupils for almost 90 years right up until its closure a decade ago.
But now a former primary school site - which has remained empty since it closed in 2013 - is set to be auctioned off.
It is due to be sold at an online property auction on Wednesday, March 22.
Marketed by Auction House East Anglia, Fen Park Primary School on Lovewell Road, Kirkley in Lowestoft is being sold with a guide price of £190,000 plus fees, on a freehold tenure.
The description for the "house (unspecified)" says: "Substantial detached former school set in over half an acre offering a range of potential uses.
"The school was built in 1925 and closed in 2013, and will be sold with vacant possession."
With the building extending to around 1,094sq m and the playground to around 1,046sq m, the auctioneers said that "air raid shelters are located underneath the playground."
As the total site area is around 0.57 acres (0.23 hectares) the playground coveres nearly half that at around 0.26 acres.
It adds: "Its current use class is class F1 (Learning and non-residential institutions), formerly D1 (Non-residential Institutions).
"This provides an opportunity for an investor to undertake their own investigations in the development potential and progress a potentially exciting project."
According to the auctioneers, the former primary school site includes an entrance hall, kitchen, activity area, assembly and dining hall, group room, girls and boys toilets, store rooms, former swimming pool, girls and boys changing rooms, two classrooms, head teachers office, lobby area, secretary office, additional toilets and a boiler room all on the ground floor.
The first floor consists of five classrooms and a library, while at mezzanine level there is a staff room, computer room, classroom, store room and toilet.
