A new nature-themed play area has taken centre stage at an official unveiling.
Work started in January to transform an existing play area in Lowestoft with new equipment.
And now the new bug-themed play area at Bentley Drive has been opened.
The refurbished play area, complete with new equipment, was unveiled after the completion of a recent revamp at the Bentley Drive play area on the Parkhill estate in north Lowestoft.
With Lowestoft Town Council overseeing the planned play area refurbishment, councillors enjoyed visiting the refurbished facilities.
And with a range of new equipment installed, including swings, a slide complete with a butterfly tile panel, a crazy hen springer and more, a town council spokesman said: "This bug-themed play area features a range of new equipment to develop different play methods.
"A new play tower with an overhead ladder and climbing net, climbing block and three-way seesaw are among some of the new features.
"All of the equipment has been designed to encourage different types of play.
"Most of the equipment has been made using recycled materials, including plastic, textile and maritime waste, whilst future panels will aim to highlight the nature that can be found around the play area."
The play equipment comes from Kompan's 'Made Green' range with some of the equipment being made from post-consumer ocean waste, recycled textiles and plastic waste.
The play area investment is the latest in a series of improvements to parks and open spaces that have been made across Lowestoft Town Council-owned assets.
Improvements to facilities at the Whitton Green play area in Lowestoft were unveiled as part of a first for the town in July last year, as new outdoor fitness equipment was opened.
In September new outdoor gyms were unveiled at Normanston Park and at Fen Park, while a newly refurbished play area at St Margaret's Plain was opened.
