Work is set to start on installing a new footbridge in a popular park.
Refurbishment work will see the existing footbridge in Fen Park, Kirkley replaced with a new timber bridge.
Construction is due to begin next week after Lowestoft Town Council agreed to the refurbishment works.
At a full council meeting of Lowestoft Town Council on October 25, councillors unanimously voted "to proceed with replacing the footbridge in Fen Park, within a maximum budget of £36,000."
With work to replace the bridge "for safety reasons" starting from next Monday, a town council spokesman said: "This is refurbishment work to put in a new bridge as we continue to improve all our assets."
With the project being funded by the town council, the spokesman added: "Construction work on the new timber bridge at Fen Park is planned for the week commencing Monday, November 14.
"Whilst the construction work progresses there will be no access across the bridge.
"A diversion will be in place during this time for anyone who uses the footbridge."
The new bridge is scheduled to be completed early next year.
Shona Bendix, town clerk at Lowestoft Town Council, added: "I am delighted that full council has agreed to a budget so that we can proceed with the refurbishment of the timber bridge in Fen Park.
"We appreciate the public’s co-operation as the bridge is replaced, ready for reopening in early 2023."
