Visitors to Southwold are being given the unique opportunity to see one of the town's most iconic landmarks up close.
The 31m-tall lighthouse is the only operational one in Suffolk which is open to the public and was built by Trinity House in 1887, coming into operation in 1890.
And people can enjoy a 30-minute tour on one of the lighthouse's open days this summer, with the chance to climb to the very top.
Trinity House Records Manager Neil Jones said: 'We are opening Southwold Lighthouse to the public, offering guided tours by experienced locals of the historical tower and beautiful views of the surrounding Suffolk Heritage Coast.
'Visitors will learn about the role played by both the lighthouse and maritime charity Trinity House in safeguarding mariners over the centuries.'
For details of opening times, visit www.trinityhouse.co.uk or call 01255 245 156. Tickets cost £4 for adults, and £3 for children.
