People are being urged to put their best feet forward to support a hospice charity by embarking on a fundraising walk from Kessingland to Lowestoft.

St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice is calling on supporters to take on a new fundraising walk - the First Light Walk - as part of this year’s First Light Festival.

Taking place on June 23, between 4.15am and 9.30am, the First Light Walk will see supporters complete sponsored five mile walks from Kessingland along the beach to South Pier Lowestoft, taking in the first light of the sun at 4.30am.

All funds raised will go towards St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice which, in partnership with East Coast Community Healthcare, has cared for more than 4,850 patients and their families in Great Yarmouth and Waveney since launching in April 2019.

James Fox-Golding, events and challenges manager at St Elizabeth East Cost Hospice, said: “We are all very excited to host this very unique fundraiser, which is sure to present some stunning scenes for our walkers to enjoy as they complete their challenges.

“Thank you to First Light Festival for allowing us to be a part of their brilliant festival and we look forward to welcoming supporters and raising vital funds to support our services in Great Yarmouth and Waveney, which provide care when it matters most.”

The walk is open to all aged ten years and above. Registration will be at South Pier, Lowestoft, before a coach transfer, provided by Belle Coaches, will take walkers to the starting point in Kessingland.

Tickets cost £20 and are available to purchase until June 19 by visiting www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/event/first-light-walk.
