A retired warehouse worker has described the moment he won his dream car as the “pinnacle of his life”.

Hadley Johnston from Lowestoft was unpacking his groceries when he received a video call from online competition specialist BOTB.

Presenter Will Cozens surprised him with the news that he had won a BMW X5 xDrive30d M-Sport - worth £72,000.

“This is the pinnacle of my life and crowning glory for me," he said. "I have never won anything of value or anything this big before.

“I’ve been entering the competition for about three-and-a-half years and always held out hope one day I would win and I’m so happy that I have.”

The win comes at a convenient time for the 66-year-old who currently relies on public transport to get out and about.

“I’ve never really had a car I’ve been able to properly call my own before,” he added.

BOTB was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away £64m-worth of cars so far.
